Principal's Desk

“Success comes to those who work hard and stays with those, who don’t rest on the laurels of the past.”

To me the very purpose of quality education is character building. Children are malleable , who can be shaped into persons of excellence by their teachers. As responsible teachers, we have to be exemplary to our students if we want them to be assets to the society and the nation.

We believe that young people grow and learn through experiences. It is these experiences which lay the foundation of our behaviour and guide us to “Values”.

As values are seen growing from students’ experience we would expect that these could be altered as experiences accumulate and change. Hence, processes are as important as product. We therefore encourage children to make informed choices and to make them freely. Help children discover alternatives when faced with choices, weigh alternatives thoughtfully reflecting on the consequences of each alternative. Encourage children to consider what it is that they prize and cherish, give them opportunities to affirm their choices, encourage them to act, behave and live in accordance with their choices.

Our educational projects derive inspiration from the educational directives given by the foundress two centuries ago. She said, Bring up the children well, love them and they will love you and you will do what you want. Teach them to be simple and hard working. For her, the tasks of an educator are:

• To reveal God, respect what each person has within herself/ himself.

• Appreciate God's creation.

• Educate sensitively and kindly.

• Form personalities, develop human beings in every aspect.

• Give work it's value.

• Be rooted in a particular culture and open to the universe.

In short, Anne Marie wants us, educators, to accompany those whom we serve on their way to their destiny by respecting their mystery.

For the past half century and more, we at Nirmala Rani have been striving hard to make Anne Marie's vision a reality. Thousands have walked past the sacred portals of this institution and have left a mark wherever they are placed. As we grow from strength to strength, I pray that we continue in this noble task, to bring forth the best in each child and enable her to find her place in this vast universe. With deep respect and gratitude we bow to all those who have striven hard to put Nirmala Rani where it stands today.

God Bless you
